Holly Norton is an American poet, writer, and visual artist from Davenport, Iowa. Norton’s writing is heavily influenced by absurdism under which is larger social commentary. Norton’s writing reflects the need to reconcile the silliness and seriousness of life and much like life, the reader is never but a microscopic step away from the farcical while considering the dilemma of physical existence. Her writing and artwork have appeared in Quercus and the Reher Gallery in the Moline Public Library. She has performed for the Boiler Room Series, the Spectra Reading Series, Pecha Kucha at the Figge Art Museum, Ten Stacked Acts, Garage3, and Daytrotter. She was the 2015 Midwest Writing Center Poet-in-Residence and the 2016 Bettendorf Public Library Artist-in-Residence.
